Declan's Italian FlashCards is a useful shareware program that helps us learn the Italian vocabulary. This software has a simple and user-friendly interface, from where we can access the learning section (FlashCards, and Review Words), and the practicing section with lots of assorted interactive exercises. Each FlashCard displays a word or phrase, its pronunciation and meaning. A word's pronunciation is given, recorded from Italian native speakers.
The vocabulary is divided into word files, and organized by topic (weather, jobs, cars, sports, food and so on), common expressions, common verbs, nouns, etc. The demo version, that we can evaluate free of charge, contains three audio word files (numbers, top expressions, and days of the week). Once we have purchased the program, we can access the developer's site and download and install as many audio word files as we want (there are over 3500 words/phrases available). After we have learned a group of words, we can test our skills and practice reading comprehension, listening comprehension, spelling and typing, connecting matching meaning with word, etc. It is possible to manage word/word files, or even add our own files.
